Canada Day

Since 1867, Canada Day takes place on July 1st of each year.

Belledune: A Canada Day parade will take place in Belledune on July 1st starting at 12:00pm at St Gabriel's Church (4114 Main St.) to Jacquet River Campground (3712 Main St.). You'll be able to enjoy music, popcorn, cake, cotton candy, BBQ, prizes and more! For more information: (506) 522-3715

Belle-Baie: The city of Belle-Baie is organizing a day of activities to mark Canada Day at the Sportplexe Richelieu outdoor park (116 rue du Parc, Nigadoo). From 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. the official ceremony will take place, then from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. music with Marc Melanson and the Bandits, family activities, inflatable games and cake will be offered! In case of bad weather, activities will take place in the Sportplexe.

Bathurst: The city of Bathurst is organizing an event from 10:45 am to 4:00 pm at Coronation Park. Starting with opening ceremonies, followed by performances from Chorale Saint-Jean, La Famille LeBlanc and Red Hunger. On site, there's going to be food from KC and Son Fish & Chips, Sausage Man and Les Gâteries Mijo, face painting and bouncy castles. The event is free and open to all. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the KC Irving Regional Centre.

Canada Day: Canada Day, also known as "Dominion Day", takes place on July 1st of each year. In 1867, this date was chosen to be the "effective date of the Confederation Act" by Queen Victoria. Today, Canadians and visitors from around the world celebrate Canadian diversity with music, joy and festivities. Don't be surprised to see people dressed in red and white and to hear the sound of fireworks in the evening.
